About us

About our Local Maternity System

The organisations who commission maternity services (they decide what services are needed and ensure that they are provided), and the organisations who deliver maternity services have come together to plan for the future.

Hospital Trusts and Clinical Commissioning Groups from Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire are working together to improve the maternity services we offer across our region.

  • We're here for the 250,000 women of childbearing age in our area
  • We're here for the 11,200 babies born each year
  • We spend around £42.6m on maternity services every year

Our Local Maternity System is made up of:

  • Bath and North East Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group
  • Great Western Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust
  • Swindon Clinical Commissioning Group
  • The Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust Bath
  • Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group

We look after mums from early pregnancy through to birth and the first few weeks of a new baby's life.
